WIOCC has designed a flexible portfolio of services to meet the needs of African and international service providers:
WIOCC Global Connectivity :
WIOCC Global Connectivity services offer dedicated point-to-point bandwidth between customer sites, carrier Points of Presence (PoPs), data centres, internet
exchanges and submarine cable landing stations anywhere on WIOCC’s global network. This network extends to more than 400 locations throughout 30 countries in Africa,
and over 700 cities in 70 countries globally.
WIOCC can meet capacity requirements from one or more E1s (2Mbps) up to and beyond STM64 (10Gbps) wavelengths. Concatenated and channelised options are available, and protected circuits can be provided.
WIOCC Global Connectivity services can be purchased on a lease or Indefeasible Right of Use (IRU) basis:
Leased Capacity
It is ideal for customers needing to spread their costs and for those with uncertain or rapidly changing bandwidth requirements
- a short or long term lease of capacity
- flexible contract terms from 1 month up to 10 years
- monthly or quarterly payments
- one-off installation fee
Indefeasible Right of Use (IRU)
It is designed for carriers requiring the most cost-effective solution for long-term, assured bandwidth between specific locations.
- gives ownership of capacity on the WIOCC network
- up to 20-year contract
- a single up-front payment, plus a small annual maintenance charge
- offers the maximum discount available
Flexible terms and conditions
- portability (relocation of either end of a circuit during the contract term)
- lease-to-IRU conversion (migration from lease to IRU during the term of the contract)
- capitalised leases (discounted rates in return for a single up-front payment)
WIOCC Internet Transit :
WIOCC Internet Transit offers African carriers and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) Tier1-grade IP connection to the global internet in London, Marseille or Djibouti.
London and Marseille are at the heart of the internet in Europe, benefiting from excellent connectivity to the Americas and Asia as well as the rest of Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Djibouti is the meeting point of a number of submarine cables, so is a natural hub for concentration and convergence of the Internet needs of many countries in the Middle East and Africa.
With African IP traffic typically destined mainly for Europe, the ability to exchange customer traffic in Djibouti may save tens or even hundreds of milliseconds compared to other IP hubs in Europe.
Customer Service Support:
WIOCC Global Connectivity and Internet Transit services are managed by the WIOCC Service Desk (WSD), which operates 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year from Nairobi, Kenya. The WSD is WIOCC customers’ single point of contact – staffed by an expert team that supports ordering, provisioning, billing, troubleshooting and query handling on WIOCC circuits.
