Reporting Line: Capacity Planning Manager

Job Objectives

To administer the network inventory, provision, activate, record and audit resources.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Own and manage service records, including ODF, port and supplier records
  • Moves, Adds, Changes and Deletion (MACD) management and control of service inventory
  • Own provisioning & activation (including allocation, DNS setup, monitoring and graphing for
    colocation, leased lines, customer backup and other customer network services)
  • Ensure network changes in the are reflected in company records
  • Ensure emergency restoration changes are reviewed and either accepted or normalised
  • Forecast on capacity and raise with management for purchasing when re-order levels are reached
  •  Prepare BOD reports and assist on budgetary planning for capacity
  •  Represent WIOCC as required on submarine cable management sub-committees
  • Assist with creation of ad hoc reports as needed
  • Assist other departments and lead and report on projects as requested
  • Ensure data integrity on NetSuit

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

Experience & Skills 

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in telecom industry including experience in service delivery, sales support, network infrastructure or operations support or similar fields
  • Knowledge of SDH, Data (Ethernet, IP/MPLS)
  • Experience with product and technology development cycle, including implementation and deployment
  • Capable of providing recommendation and options in order to identify all impacts and costs related to the recommended solution
  • Effective written and verbal communications skills evidenced by previous work history and accomplishments
  • Expert knowledge of at least one project management software
  • Excellent communications and presentation skills, including ability to summarize and concisely share key project information to all levels of the organisation
  • Demonstrate ability to manage multiple priorities, set direction and solve problems in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills and able to collate and interpret data from various resources
  • Quick to understand technical issues and concepts
  • Good English language communicator with a natural aptitude for dealing with people
  • Willing to work on a 24/7 including nights, weekends and public holidays / on-call as required
