IT & Systems Support Engineer – Nigeria

Job Objective

 

User support & IT helpdesk function for equipment and systems.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • User Support and Training: Provide IT Help Desk support and training on equipment (e.g., laptops) and systems
  • Report and Document Template Creation: Develop and maintain templates for reporting and documentation purposes
  • Business Continuity Preparedness: Ensure regular system and user data backups to maintain business continuity
  • Business Process Automation: Identify opportunities for automation and advocate for their implementation to enhance efficiency
  • Incident Management: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, escalating to Level 3 support when necessary
  • IT Systems Assistance: Provide support to IT systems as needed
  • Cybersecurity and Compliance: Assist in monitoring and maintaining IT security, including email security, endpoint protection and compliance with organisational security policies
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Assist other departments and lead projects assigned by the IT Manager

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field from a recognised university
  • Technical Certifications’ or related technologies, CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Security, Compliance and Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate

Experience & Skills

  • Technical Experience: At least 3 years of experience in second-level technical support or a similar role.
  • Knowledge of IT ticketing Systems and ERPs: Understanding enterprise resource planning systems and general IT infrastructure
  • Business Process Optimization: Experience designing, analysing, optimising and simplifying business processes
  • Effective Use of IT Tools: Utilising IT tools to accurately, concisely and promptly record information
  • Multitasking and Problem-Solving: Demonstrate ability to manage multiple priorities and resolve issues in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with networking basics (IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi troubleshooting)
