Procurement Specialist (Fixed Term Contract) – Nigeria

Job Objective

 

Manage procurement and logistics processes efficiently, build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders and support organisation goals and objectives.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Implement procurement policies and plans to acquire high-quality materials, goods and services
  • Collaborate with departments to determine procurement needs, specifications and forecasts
  • Perform global sourcing while ensuring compliance with international standards and trade regulations
  • Identify, prequalify and onboard compliant suppliers across diverse regions, ensuring a competitive, reliable and sustainable supply chain
  • Identifying go-to-market strategies, conducting supplier benchmarking and market surveys to diversify and strengthen the supplier database
  • Assist in bidding processes, including preparing RFQs, RFPs and TORs and conducting technical and financial analysis of procurement deals
  • Negotiate purchase terms and conditions and supplier contracts by collaborating with cross-functional teams, securing favourable pricing structures, SLAs and MSAs
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders and approvals on NetSuite to ensure timely processing, delivery and document compliance
  • Support in cost optimisation initiatives through liaison with cross-functional departments
  • Analyse industry and demand trends and support senior management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies
  • Support in tracking inventory levels, replenishment of goods as needed and ensuring accurate records in NetSuite
  • Generate and manage daily, monthly and quarterly procurement reports
  • Analyse, evaluate and monitor supplier performance to drive continuous improvement
  • Support in logistics operations including shipping, local customs clearance and delivery
  • Develop efficient procurement solutions to enhance operational effectiveness
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors to secure favourable pricing on products
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management or a related field
  • Professional certification and membership such as CIPS, or equivalent is highly desirable
  • Proficiency in IT and ERP systems (Netsuite) experience is an advantage)

Experience & Skills
  • At least 5 years of experience in procurement and supply management within a multinational, telecommunications, or large organisation
  • In-depth understanding of procurement processes, best practices and contract administration
  • Proven track record of global sourcing and managing international suppliers, particularly in African, European and Asian markets
  • Familiarity with legislative and regulatory requirements, import/export procedures and global shipping practices
  • Understanding of standard contractual terms and conditions to mitigate legal risk
  • Supplier relationship management and strong sourcing strategies
  • Expertise in telecom-related procurement, including CAPEX (connectivity services such as fibre builds, capacity, colocation, network equipment and accessories), data centre infrastructure (MEPF), fit-out, OPEX (operations projects) and logistics services, is essential
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment
