During the 2023 SubOptic event, Isabelle Paradis from Hot Telecom interviewed Nikki Popoola, Director, Sales West Africa. Nikki discussed the significant progress Africa has made in developing subsea cables, as well as the WIOCC Group’s efforts to digitise the continent.
Nikki also highlighted the challenges faced by operators in accessing reliable and affordable connectivity services. To address this issue, WIOCC Group is continuously investing in subsea cables and deploying core and edge data centres at content generation and consumption points across the continent, offering open access connectivity over diverse, high-capacity network links to ensure that operators have access to reliable and affordable services.
