Chris Wood, CEO of WIOCC, a leading player in deploying carrier-scale, future-proofed network infrastructure into Africa, has again been identified as one of the 100 most influential people in the global wholesale carrier community in Capacity magazine’s third annual Power 100 index.
Chris was cited for overseeing the completion of WIOCC’s multimillion-dollar hyperscale network infrastructure investment programme in South Africa, which has created an alternative to traditional wholesale capacity providers in the market. WIOCC now delivers a compelling connectivity proposition for service providers, enabling them to move client traffic onto a flexible and highly scalable, hyperscale national network, with access to an extensive network of Metro PoPs and international connectivity to key global hubs.
The citation also noted that under Chris’ leadership similar investments in metro and national infrastructure are underway in other key markets. Together, these initiatives reinforce WIOCC’s policy of ongoing strategic investment in network infrastructure to ensure its ability to deliver the scale, reliability, reach and cost-efficiencies its clients need to fully implement their strategies for Africa.
