Job Objective
As a Network Technology Manager, you will lead a team responsible for designing, implementing and optimising network transmission systems to ensure efficient and reliable data transmission. You will play a pivotal role in managing the end-to-end build process, from conceptualisation to execution, while fostering innovation and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, guidance and mentorship to a team of network transmission architects
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that promotes creativity, accountability and professional growth
- Allocate resources effectively, manage workloads, and prioritise tasks to ensure timely project delivery
- Oversee the design, development and implementation of network transmission systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including PMO, operations, procurement and finance, to ensure alignment with business objectives and technical requirements
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to enhance network reliability and resilience
- Continuously monitor network performance metrics and conduct thorough analysis to identify optimisation opportunities
- Develop and implement capacity planning strategies to accommodate network growth and evolving business needs
- Proactively identify potential bottlenecks or performance issues and implement solutions to improve overall network efficiency
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors, suppliers and contractors to procure necessary equipment and services
- Evaluate vendor proposals, negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) and quality standards
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to inform procurement decisions and maintain a competitive edge
- Establish and enforce quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability, security and integrity of network transmission systems
- Collaborate with regulatory compliance teams to ensure adherence to industry regulations, standards and best practices
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify compliance gaps and implement corrective actions as needed
- Develop standards, policies and processes for network planning, implementation and operation
- Improve efficiency of resources through automation and standardisation
- Set and manage yearly network budget
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a technical field
Experience & Skills:
- Proven experience (8 years) in network transmission engineering, with a focus on design, implementation and optimisation
- Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team
- In-depth knowledge of network transmission technologies, protocols and standards, such as DWDM, SDH, Ethernet, and MPLS
- Experience with network performance monitoring and analysis tools, as well as capacity planning methodologies
- Experience with managing and building relationships with vendors and contractors
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail
- Relevant certifications are a plus
